    sti wrx instrument cluster swap

    can an sti instrument cluster be used in a wrx? does the wiring match up? i understand somethings wouldnt function but would the main things like speedo tach and main gauges like that still work?

    Do you mean the gauge cluster w/ your tach, speedo, fuel, etc?

    I think so but you may need to look into whether or not the immobilizer is an issue or not on 05 and above. To the best of my knowledge it is not because I have only ever seen the immobilizer combination to be the ECU, The Key and the immobilizer module. But I have heard that the cluster is part of that combination also. Of that I am not sure.

    thanks that helps a bit at least give me another spot to look into. i didnt think of the cluster being part of the immobilizer. Mine is an 04 wrx so if i would get it from an 04 sti would the immobilizer be an issue still? I see that you said 05 and above. Thanks for the help so far. its already showing me things i didnt think of...

    so then as long as i would get an 04 sti cluster i should be ok then? since it seemed like that was the big issue... thanks for the help... good information to know...

    According to the manual there are wiring differences between the STi cluster and the WRX. I will look much closer at the wiring to see if the differences are superficial. Stay tuned.
