    Skidplate / brush guard

I'm wanting to make a custom skid plat / brush guard for my 96 Outback. My biggest concern is ripping out my oil pan on a rock....So I'm needing something to cover the bottom of the engine...and maybe wrap up the front bumper a little bit.

What would be the best metal to use?

I would probably use 1/4" aluminum lightweight but strong.

Or if you aren't worried about weight too much 16g stainless.

I'm worried about strength more than weight.

While I'm out playing, there are tons of big rocks that you can't even see until the last second...almost too late. I just need something to help protect the bottom of my engine at 30ish MPH....so whatever works best lol
