I love that Beretta too though!
I love that Beretta too though!
I shot the M&P9c a few times over the weekend. Shoots like a dream. 500 rounds through it and it has had 100% reliability and is very accurate. I was grouping a 4 inch spread from 30 yards
I feel like shooting holes in my sinus cavity so I can breathe. I HATE being sick
Mini 14's are badass! I used to hunt with one here in Georgia when I was younger, shot amazingly!
Being that I'm not 21..I will soon have a pistol when I turn 21..pondering on what to get..really thinking about a Sig p226 or 229, or a 1911 from Kimber..debating! Any input from you guys with personal experience with these? I've held and shot all three, really like them all!
the kimber is nice but imo your payin a lot for the name. other than that i wouldnt steer you away from any of those. all good guns
I prefer the 226 over the 229 because of the longer barrel and better overall appearence. The Coast Guard uses the 229 and to be honest I think it looks too much like a toy when we draw down on people.
I miss the Beretta 9mm we used to have. I love the way it looks!!
(not to mention it was STUPID accurate!!!)
I also love the Kimber 1911 but dont care for the .45 because of the slow slug speed and minimal magazine capacity. Thats why I love the .40 cal. Its not a puny 9mm but not heavy and slow like a 45

226 on left, 229 on right (obviously)
Kimbers are great guns....Nobody can deny that...but you are paying for a name.
Taurus makes a 1911 thats just as good for half the price...and the Taurus has a lifetime warranty on it too.
If you want a 1911 like gun but in 9mm, you can look at the Browning Hi Power. Its pretty simular and very pleasant to shoot.
But what it boils down to is whatever feels right in your hands. When I got my Smith&Wesson M&P9c, I spent a month shopping around for the right pistol. I picked up, shot, handled, etc 300+ pistols and the M&P was the one that just felt right when I picked it up.
Take your time shopping....when you pick up the right gun you will know it immediately.
Without being overly specific:
Mossberg 590 A1

Ruger 10-22 / Christie Stock
S&W M&P 15-22 loaded

Ruger 9mm p-95
Springfield XD .45 ACP
Almost forgot one of my favorites:
