my bulb was burried in it too but it only took a twist for it to come out... but thats how i did mine. i wouldnt know how to do it on any others like as you say with a diff set up... sorry cant be more help

I had a feeling when I saw it on the news! Rock on!
Changed the spark plugs today in my STi. Good news is I didn't have to pull the battery because I have a small one.
