    STi swap into Outback

Im leaning towards doing my STi swap with my tax refund this year.

Heres my dilemma, I want to keep my 5x100 bolt pattern since I already have 3 sets of wheels and tires (I have two Subarus) so since Im assuming I have to swap shafts I need to seek out an 04 STi right? Any other years work (I think no)?

Also, will I have to swap knuckles?

And lastly, what about my brakes? Do I HAVE to swap rotors and whatnot? the reason I am asking is that I am at the point now where I need brake pads for my outback and dont want to upgrade my rotors and pads only to be forced into STi brakes whenever I get around to actually doing the swap.

Feel free to pick my post apart, but please let me know what you think!

You can use your stock Legacy brakes on STI hubs....but you may want better brakes because the extra power.

For your driveshaft if I remember right you will need an automatic legacy one...and have it cut down a few inches. There is no driveshaft that will just drop in...it has to be custom. Cost about $150 or so at a driveshaft shop

Thanks John. I figured there were things I missed. The driveshaft being one.

There is a kit for upgraded rotors and ceramic pads for legacys I wanted to go that route but not unless they would fit once I do the swap.

What should I pay for an 04 tranny? I'm seeing ones for $2000-3000

The brakes will fit 04 hubs...but you should do bigger brakes then stock Legacy size
