    Just a couple of issues.

I just bought a 2001 legacy outback 2.5h. So a couple of issues have come up. The key does not like to come out of the column when I turn the car off. Then Today when we had stopped to grab something, we left the car running and there was clicking coming from the steering column. Second issue is I am getting a squelch at around 3k such as when accelerating to get on the highway. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's pretty bizarre sounding. I really don't even know what to say, so let's just wait for someone who's more mechanically inclined to get in here.

The only reason that the key would fail to come out is an internal issue with the assembly itself, such one or multiple tumblers getting hung up. Attempting a fix is not something I would do myself unless you are very mechanically inclined.

The squelching is most likely a belt loosing tension at that RPM. Check to make sure that there is enough tension and/or that the belts are in good condition.

The clicked could be your steering box
