TMIC Protector
Ever get bent fins on your top mount intercooler from dumb bugs committing suicide in your scoop? Yea I do and it drives me insane. So here is a DIY you can use to help protect your intercooler from this kamikaze insects.
Tools Needed:
1. Phillips Head Screwdriver

1. Aluminum Mesh

Steps
1.
Remove all the screws for the hood scoop diverter assembly circled in red. Note that the top center is a plastic tab.

This is optional but I like to work clean so clean off the diverter.

Remove all of these little plastic rivets that hold the rubber gasket/liner in place. Be sure to put them in a plastic bag or in a safe place so you don't lose any.

Measure and cut your aluminum mesh approximately 20 1/4" long and 6 1/2" wide.

If you purchased the right size of mesh the plastic pop rivets should fit right into a square of the mesh. Lay it across the splitter, put the rubber gasket/liner on top, and pop the rivets in. Trim the mesh around it to clean up the edges.

Reinstall the the diverter back onto the underside of the hood.

(optional) Straighten out the fins of your intercooler with tweezers or a radiator fin straightening comb if available.

Now you have your finished product. A clean, non-restrictive protector for your beloved TMIC Fins. Eat your heart out bug jerky.
